About KAS Accounting

KAS Accounting Solutions currently employs a team of 15 permanent staff across our Kununurra, Katherine and Darwin offices. We’ve developed an established client base in the not-for-profit and small-to-medium-sized business sectors.

All of our team members are highly qualified and experienced professionals. They have an extensive commitment to the regions where they work, and a passion for providing high-quality service to our diverse range of clients.

We’re proud to help not-for-profit organisations and small-to-medium-sized businesses in our communities to not only survive but to thrive. We do this by providing them with accounting, bookkeeping and tax advice based on their individual needs and circumstances.

Jodie is the founder of KAS Accounting Solutions and the winner of the 2019 Telstra Business Women's Small Business Award for Western Australia. She moved to the East Kimberley in 2004 as a young accounting professional, successfully gaining her tax agent licence in 2006 and gaining her membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in 2008.

Jodie founded KAS Accounting Solutions in 2007 after spending her first few years in the East Kimberley working for not-for-profit organisations. She and her husband have two children (Charlie and Jack), and they enjoy a robust life in the top end.

Meena is a director of KAS Accounting Solutions and a fully qualified Chartered Accountant, also holding a Certificate of Public Practice. Meena is the winner of 2023 Young CA Award for the Northern Territory.

She joined KAS in 2017 after completing her Master of Professional Accounting from Charles Darwin University. With experience in taxation, business services, practice management, HR, graduates and CA mentoring program, together with Jodie, Meena has built a strong team of accounting professionals who share her commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Meena is also a panel member of the NT Chartered Accountants panel and SA/NT Diversity Equity and Inclusion panel. Meena is an keen tech enthusiast who enjoys exploring the latest developments in software, emerging technologies and enjoys training clients on use of Xero accounting software and Dext. She also volunteers her time to mentor young people interested in pursuing careers in accounting through the CDU careers centre mentoring Program.

Paula became a director of KAS Accounting Solutions in 2015, after having worked as a tax accountant for the business since 2009. She is a chartered accountant and registered tax agent. She is a Curtin University graduate, holding a Bachelor of Business (Horticulture) and Master of Accounting.

She is a long-term Kununurra resident, having moved to the region in 1999. She has extensive field experience in the Kimberley and has assisted local businesses to improve their profitability by providing sound business advice.

Paula is passionate about the economic development of the area. Prior to becoming a tax accountant, she ran her own businesses and worked as an economic development officer in the public service.

Ian has over 30 years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll and accounting. He is also very experienced in managing teams. He joined the KAS Accounting Solutions team in early 2018.

His career over the past 20 years has been focused on the East Kimberley region, providing advice to clients in remote communities in the desert south of Halls Creek, as well as to larger non-profit organisations in Kununurra.

Ian has extensive experience in preparing audited end-of-year financial statements for organisations and in helping stakeholders to understand the information they contain in order to make effective decisions.

Client Services

Julie is our Client Services Manager and our client “go to” person for:

  • Initial queries
  • Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office
  • Providing financial information
  • Connecting with our directors and key staff.

She joined KAS Accounting Solutions in 2010 after spending more than 15 years operating her own tourism businesses in the Kimberley region. She was integral to the establishment of our Darwin office in late 2017, moving there after having lived and worked in Kununurra for 24 years.

Judy joined the KAS Accounting Solutions team in 2014, having more than 20 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience. She was responsible for setting up our automated accounting systems. Judy embraces technology and is integral to future-proofing our business for the benefit of our clients.
