KAS Accounting Solutions is a local chartered accountancy firm with offices in Katherine, Kununurra and Darwin. We make accounting, bookkeeping and tax as simple and hassle-free as possible for our clients. Founded in 2007, we now have a diverse client base in the not-for-profit and small-to-medium-sized business sectors.
We know that our clients generally don’t have the time, motivation or knowledge to do these important tasks themselves. That’s where our team of specialists can help. We can do all the accounting and bookkeeping tasks for our clients, so they can focus on what they do best.
We can also train our clients to implement efficient, automated systems and procedures using the latest technology. We’re all about data flow to help with decision-making, not data entry.
The KAS Accounting Solutions Difference
We’re not your typical chartered accountancy firm. We’re not about big fees from one or a few big clients. We’re about developing long-term, trusted relationships with a strong and broad client base.
We’re a vital cog in the not-for-profit sector in northern Australia. Because of the remoteness of the region, CEOs tend to come and go, but we’re a constant, ensuring the ongoing efficiency and compliance of these vital community organisations.
Our highly skilled and experienced team at KAS Accounting Solutions are passionate about not-for-profit organisations and small-to-medium-sized businesses in remote communities. Our mentoring service can be the difference between success and failure. We take the time to understand our clients’ operations and we provide them with practical advice on how they can improve. We then follow up and monitor their progress because we’re locally based.
We also understand the challenges of making a dollar in northern Australia. Being a local small business ourselves, we can relate to many of the challenges our clients face. We help them implement strategies and solutions to ensure their ongoing viability and success.
The KAS Accounting Solutions philosophy reflects founder Jodie Silvester’s own business and life experience. She understands life in the far north, having lived in Kununurra for 15 years and starting her business there before settling in Darwin and establishing a brand of KAS Accounting Solutions there:
“I understand the challenges facing business, especially small business. I’ve run my own small business and had small businesses as clients for many years. I understand cash-flow issues, staff issues, technical issues…And that understanding helps me help businesses. One of our clients installs bores throughout the top end. He is hugely successful at what he does – but he doesn’t understand accounting. Why should he? That’s where we come in. We make bookkeeping and tax as easy
as possible. Our clients don’t have to drive 600 kilometres to our office to sign a BAS statement. Our mentoring also gives our clients the confidence to try something new.”
